Get Knowledge
“If a man empties his purse into his head no one can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.”
In the internet age, information is at our fingertips. We can read anything and know anything we want, instantaneously. Websites, eBooks, podcasts, audio books, blogs, etc., it's all right there just a keystroke away. You should take advantage of this opportunity. Be grateful to live in the information age because never in the history of our civilization has information been so readily and globally available. Philosophy states that we're all one. But the internet is literally the fabric connecting us all. The more interconnected we are the greater the potential for greatness on a global scale. Dictatorships are collapsing. Global awareness is at an all time high. Information is spreading rapidly and virally. The internet is bringing light to the darkest parts of the world.
Read often. Set a goal for yourself, perhaps a book a month. Read books on a variety of subjects and challenge yourself. If you don't like numbers, read a book on economics. If you're not into eReading, than grab a good old fashioned book.
Bottom line, access to information is changing. The traditional brick and mortar method of learning is going to one day be as archaic as the horse and buggy. Online universities are on the rise and gaining credibility. There are even websites like Coursera that offer free online recorded lectures from Ivy League universities. And Khan Academy allows you to literally study any subject you want, for free, from your computer or smartphone. That's incredible. There's no denying it, access to information and the way we learn is changing - period.
Learn as much as you can. Soak up information like a sponge. Learn it. Live it. Apply it. Be relentless in your pursuit of knowledge.
